The Wilderness & Warrior Nature Calls Adventure is a 9 days / 8 night experience in Tanzania and Kenya.
The Warrior section of the Wilderness & Warriors Adventure:
We begin this adventure in Johannesburg from where we are transferred to northern Kenya to be inspired and equipped by the Ilingwesi tribe of the Maasai. Activities include weapon training, animal tracking, medicine making from local plants & bush survival learnt whilst constructing shelters, finding water and making fire without matches! To be our facilitators the Ilingwesi combine as a tribal team and we learn much about connecting that fosters our own team building in an unforgettable, hands-on, take-home kind of way. Suddenly we find we are released again to dream our destiny with courage, confidence and a new-found competence.
Our arrival at Lewa Downs in Northern Kenya is early evening after scenic air transfers from Selous to Dar Es Salaam and then via Nairobi to Lewa Down. On arrival we are introduced to our hosts, the Maasai and stretch our legs with a short walk to a nearby hill to familiarize ourselves with the area. We then settle down for supper and some campfire chats.

Wednesday to Saturday
We begin this adventure in Johannesburg from where we are transferred to Amara Luxury Tented Camp in the Selous Game Reserve to begin our 4 day / 3 night stay. This wilderness space, measuring 55,000 sq kms, is one of the largest areas of game ‘preservations’ in Africa. It is possible to stay here for days without seeing any other human beings – just wild, wild nature in all her splendor.
For safari travellers who have ‘been there and done that’, you have not done this! The landscape here has remained almost as it was before tourism began and the massive park has only a few accommodation options. The Great Rufiji River and its tributaries are the lifeblood of the reserve, creating a network of forests and woodlands around the lagoons, sandbanks and lakes with tall palm trees adding to the scenic splendor. Because of its size and remoteness, the reserve has over 2,100 species of plants, 350
species of birds, 60,000 elephant, 108,000 buffalos and an estimated 1,300 of the worlds’ roughly 4,000 remaining rare wild dogs, giving guests an opportunity to glimpse all of these exotic animals in true unspoilt wilderness. Boating, walking safaris and fly camping are all available in the Selous.
Daily, after each incredible game viewing experience we engage with relaxed, self-reflective discussions to gain life insights and understandings of how the ways in which animals relate and survive can remind us of ways of being a team.
