The Wilderness section of the Wilderness & Warriors Adventure:

24th – 28th June 2011

We begin this adventure overnighting at the well known Oyster Catcher in Dar Es Salaam. From there we are transferred on a small aircraft to Beho Beho in the Selous Game Reserve to begin our 4 day / 3 night stay in Beho Beho. This wilderness space, measuring 55,000 sq kms, is one of the largest areas of game ‘preservations’ in Africa. It is possible to stay here for days without seeing any other human beings – just wild, wild nature in all her splendour.

The word Beho Beho means ‘cooling breezes’ as the camp is sited above the banks of the Rufiji river and her flood plains in the cooler highlands with her magical and expansive views.

For safari travellers who have ‘been there and done that’, you have not done this! From the home luxuries of a ‘banda’ – a locally designed stone construction, thatched in palm leaves, but with one wall totally open to the bush, you can explore on foot, by boat or by open safari cruiser. Experienced guides tailor make your day, whether you are needing excitement and adventure, a 10km hike before breakfast or time to chill out and relax.

Daily, after each incredible game viewing experience we engage with relaxed, self-reflective, corporate-resturcturing discussions to gain life insights and understandings of how the ways in which animals relate and survive can remind us of ways of being a team.

If you would like to participate in tne Wilderness only aspect of this Team Building Adventure your investment is US$5973.50 which includes: Return flights from Johannesburg – Dar Es Salaam, return flights from Dar Es Salaam to Selous Game Reserve, overnight at the Oyster Catcher, and fully catered luxury accommodation at Beho Beho – including all game activities and group discussions.

 5 day /4 night Experience

After 4 adventurous days at Beho Beho we transfer to northern Kenya to be inspired and equipped by the Ilingwesi tribe of the Maasai. Activities include weapon training, animal tracking,  medicine making from local plants & bush survival learnt whilst constructing shelters, finding water and making fire without matches! To be our facilitators the Ilingwesi combine as a tribal team and we learn much about connecting that fosters our own team building in an unforgettable, hands-on, take-home kind of way. Suddenly we find we are released again to dream our destiny with courage, confidence and a new-found competence.

Tuesday, 28th June

Our arrival at Lewa Downs in Northern Kenya is early evening after scenic air transfers from Selous to Dar Es Salaam and then via Nairobi to Lewa Down. On arrival we are introduced to our hosts, the Maasai and stretch our legs with a short walk to a nearby hill to familiarize ourselves with the area.  We then settle down for supper and some campfire chats.
